Take part in the "Knitting Together" training program and get more knowledge on the topics
It is unlikely that anyone today will choose a needle thickness of 0.1 - 0.2 cm and sit knitting for a couple of months on end.
And the old "recipes" for knitting patterned mittens are designed for at least 120 loops in a circle. And real Ethnographic Rarities - works of applied art - sometimes have up to 20 loops at the base of each rapport
In order for the yarn of different colors to be perfectly the same thickness (otherwise the pattern will not fall), our local grandmothers still prefer to buy a kilogram of unbleached domestic goat wool at the market and dye it in parts by hand...
Only 100% wool will shrink properly when the mittens are steamed out after you have finished knitting and decided to shape the product. The wool mixture "floats, and you will not get an even ornament
If you become the happy owner of a ready-made knitting kit on our website, do not wash the wool before knitting. This will lead to deformation of the fiber in the yarn, and deprive it of its specific qualities.

If you have already familiarized yourself with the topics about the history, traditions and symbolism of the ornament, then the language in which the MITTEN speaks to you has become more understandable! Here are the simplest examples:
- the fringe was knitted for unmarried girls or for marriage.
- men's mittens started with cloves
- twisted flagellum / hoop / pigtail - showed marital status
I propose to place ACCENTS in your product!

"To fit like a GLOVE" - "Sits like a glove" - this is what the English say if they want to emphasize that they liked this person or thing
And so - why sit?
The easiest way is to start knitting with the lining and then proceed to knitting the mitten itself. This is convenient, since you can always try on the product in the knitting process and make adjustments if necessary. The lining is started with an "auxiliary" thread, which can then be unraveled and the freed loops used to knit the main mitten.
What yarn to choose for lining?
I recommend dog hair, I will explain why: the healing properties of this hair are undeniable and only at first glance this hair seems rough. After evaporation, it feels like silk to the touch. I even knitted the lining for my mother with a relief fabric - this creates the effect of massage of the skin receptors in the palm of your hand, and this is very important. After all, the hand is, first of all, a connection with the brain. Such a lining is a healing therapy (in cases of pain in the joints of the fingers and colds) * more detailed recommendations can be obtained during the Joint "online" projects - we invite you to participate

There are several ways to tie your thumb:
- "classic way" - for a finger, loops are removed on an "English" pin or knitted with an "auxiliary" thread
- "wedge method" - loops are gradually recruited in the course of knitting and the volume of loops for the thumb is formed from them. The level of the diseased finger can be outlined in advance on the diagram - it all depends on what length of cuff you prefer

You will need:
- two large terry towels
The product is placed between towels and ironed with steam. In the process of steaming, the canvas will become more uniform and neat. * more detailed recommendations can be

The speed of jacquard knitting is 1 loop in 3-5 seconds. Let's calculate:
- 200 loops for the volume of a pair of mittens
- multiply by 200 rows - the length of the product
- multiply by amount of seconds per rooster (5 seconds)
And we get from 50-80 hours of net working time. In addition, it must be borne in mind that after 2 hours of intensive knitting, breaks should be taken.
If you designed the scheme yourself, and did not use the finished scheme in color, then you can safely add a few weeks spent on the selection of colors and technical development of the scheme!
And now multiply this by the cost of your working hour and get the cost of your mittens
Try it, create it, good luck!
